5th February - Alcohol Inks with Gill Mullen
To quote from Google: "Alcohol inks are a type of dye-based ink that is fast-drying, vibrant and permanent" But they are not light fast. They are ideal for many art projects and decorating cards etc. They do however contain toxic solvents. We will be working in a well ventilated room although you may want to bring a mask. They are also toxic to the skin so wearing gloves is important. The materials you need to bring are as follows: Nitrile or similar thin gloves. (I can bring a few extra pairs) Table cover. Apron. Wear old clothes: inks can stain badly. Cards for decorating if you wish. Glue stick. Scissors. Kitchen roll. A couple of oldish brushes. We will provide all the other main materials needed for the workshop. Come along and have fun. |
12th February - Ongoing Project: 'Creative Perspectives' with Helen Talbot.
Helen's project will lead to our spring exhibition entitled 'Creative Perspectives'. Designed to help us approach ideas differently. We will consolidate ideas begun already on the topic of composition and perspective, exploring, through quick sketching, various ways to interpret images for further development and to give ideas for the exhibition that you may not have thought of. This will give you the opportunity to explore your subject matter in different ways that reflect the title.. Use soluble and non soluble drawing media, and watercolours. Helen will bring visual resources, still life objects, information sheets on composition and perspective, books, examples of work. Please bring a phone to photograph still life objects from various positions that may be of future use for you. |
