6th April - Tetra Pak printing with Sarah Humby During this session Sarah will give a short demonstration on the possibilities that Tetra Pak offers the printmaker. Following this she will guide the group through their own exploration of the material. It is suitable for all artists from beginners upwards and requires no previous experience. Tetra Pak is a versatile and low cost material which is used for packaging cartons (oat milk, orange juice, etc). By manipulating the surface with mark making tools and scissors we can create wonderful prints very easily and, using small portable presses, we can explore the different ways that it can be used. To Bring: A reference image of a bird or animal or building or simple still life etc etc. Any tetra pak you may have collected by the date of the session - washed out and flattened. (I will bring plenty too). An ink roller if you have one (I will bring plenty too) A cutting mat Scissors and/or craft knife Table cover or newspaper. Pencil Kitchen roll Baby wipes if you have them. |
4th May - Experimental Textures with Lindsey J Cole An experimental workshop based on using acrylics. This workshop will be based on ideas creating textured surfaces to add into your own paintings. We will use various techniques to create texture -mark making into texture medium (which Lindsey can supply) and adding interesting effects with different materials and tools. Because of the time limit, we will be working on a small scale of two 8”x 8” tiles for you to take away for future reference. Please bring along your own 8 x 8" tiles of board/paper and acrylic paint. |
