12th February - Ongoing Project: 'Creative Perspectives' with Helen Talbot.
Helen's project leading to our spring exhibition entitled 'Creative Perspectives'. Designed to help us approach ideas differently. We will consolidate ideas begun already on the topic of composition and perspective, exploring, through quick sketching, various ways to interpret images for further development and to give ideas for the exhibition that you may not have thought of. This will give you the opportunity to explore your subject matter in different ways that reflect the title.. Use soluble and non soluble drawing media, and watercolours. Helen will bring visual resources, still life objects, information sheets on composition and perspective, books, examples of work. Please bring a phone to photograph still life objects from various positions that may be of future use for you. 19th February - Portrait Workshop with David Roberts
Faces are always a fascination to draw. David will demonstrate the way he does a simple portrait after which he will ask members to pair up and do timed portraits of each other, probably 15 minutes. Please bring A3 paper and either charcoal or a soft pencil. |
5th March - Still Life from Nature
Bring natural object(s) to draw for an untutored session. Bring pine cones, feathers, shells, seed pods, potted plant or any natural objects, and bring art materials of your choice. Drawing and making studies of natural objects can help us learn about structure, texture and pattern, which in turn helps with our ability to design in general. |
