ART IN POOLE PARK
Come and take part this weekend!

Art Pro Loco at Poole Park
Poole Park Artists and Makers Studio
From Friday 28th July through the weekend,
to Monday 31st July for voting and prizegiving

How it works

‘Pro Loco’ means of the place, and you are invited to come along on either the Friday, Saturday or Sunday to draw or paint around Poole Park. You are asked to complete your picture within the same day.
Your work will be exhibited in the Poole Park Artists and Makers Studio, in the middle of the park.
You are asked to register with one of the stewards when you arrive, (by the Artists and Makers Studio). The entry fee is £2.50, cash please, no wifi. (£1.50 for children under 16). You will receive a date stamp and an entry number.
Please bring materials and equipment of your own choice. Paper should be of a decent quality, so it can be exhibited on a wall. Some materials will be available.
On completion, please return your work to the stewards. If you wish to mount your work, please do this before you hand it in.
Your work will be displayed in the Artists and Makers Studio for viewing.
On Monday 31st, after all work has been submitted, visitors are invited to come and choose their favourite piece of work, in 3 age categories: a) Children up to 5, b) children 5-15, c) everyone over 15 years.
Voting slips and a posting box will be available. The 3 winners will be announced at 3pm on Monday by our Artist Patron, Helen Talbot.
Please make an arrangement to collect your work, if required, by the end of the day.
This opportunity is open to everyone, regardless of age or ability, so come along and tell all your friends.

We're painting Skies

'Skies'
Cloud watching can lead to some beautiful images!
In preparation for the August session on Skies you may like to spend a short time Sky Gazing, so that you can record an interesting sky. Or you may prefer to bring a photo which you have taken or a sketch or picture you have made previously or collected on this subject.

Materials you will need to bring are:-
Acrylic paints, oil pastels, mixed media paper/and or heavy watercolour paper A3/A4, suitable brushes (at least one hog hair brush) masking tape, scissors, kitchen roll or rag, and a spray bottle for water - a water jar and a table covering.

Our next Plein Air session is Thurs 27 July at the Boilerhouse Gallery, Corfe Castle BH205JF

10 am. Meeting point: by the studios next to the railway. The Boilerhouse Gallery is easy to find opposite the Corfe Castle railway station in what was once the local milk depot.
Of interest: Old dairy buildings containing artists’ studios and gardens.
Car park charge. Amenities: toilets, cafe close by.

Folk of all ages are invited to draw and paint in the inspiring setting of Poole Park. All work must be completed on location in one day and the artworks displayed in Poole Park Art & Makers Studio, in the middle of Poole Park, BH 15 1TU.
People’s Prize announced on Monday 31st for the most popular picture.
