Dawn Goodson celebrates her 90th birthday this year with a retrospective exhibition of her work in a variety of media - paintings in oil, watercolour, pastel, screen prints, sculpture, ceramics. All money raised from the sale of her work will be donated to the local branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. This vibrant exhibition is open now and will run until 2nd August. We know that nothing phases Dawn. She recently performed a Wing Walk at the Bournemouth Air Show; has abseiled down the Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower; gone down the Velocity 2 Zip Wire in Wales headfirst at 100 mph – all in aid of MNDA charity to help raise funds for those affected by Motor Neurone Disease. The Gallery Upstairs is full of Dawn's work. There are portfolio pieces, studies and prints to browse through and of course her vibrant Chinese watercolour paintings on different types of papers - a skill that Dawn has generously demonstrated to PEDAS members at our Thursday evening sessions. Over her long and interesting life Dawn has spent many years living and teaching overseas and this has had a clear influence on her work. Equally evident is work inspired by the Dorset landscape. So we do hope you find the time to come and enjoy a visit to Upton Country Park in the glorious sunshine, pop into the Gallery, meet Dawn and support this worth cause.
